Welcome to ICGIC
United Against Gangs. Protecting Our Valley.
The Imperial County Gang Intelligence Coalition works to connect federal, state, and local law enforcement across Imperial Valley to share intelligence on gang threats and incidents. Our goal is simple — what happens in one jurisdiction affects all others, and staying connected keeps our communities safer.
About ICGIC
ICGIC is a collaborative, non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening public safety through advanced law enforcement training and community engagement. Founded in 2013 by a coalition of local, state, and federal officers, ICGIC was created to address the need for accessible, high-quality training in Imperial County. Today, the organization serves as a hub for professional development, bringing nationally recognized experts to train law enforcement personnel in critical areas such as gang investigations, narcotics, and emerging crime trends. Beyond training, ICGIC is committed to proactive community outreach, supporting youth programs, and delivering prevention education to help build safer, stronger communities.

F.A.Q.
The Imperial County Gang Intelligence Coalition (ICGIC) is a collaborative, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing public safety through law enforcement training, intelligence-sharing, and community engagement.
The ICGIC provides advanced training opportunities, fosters interagency collaboration, and facilitates the exchange of information on gang activity, crime trends, and emerging threats—allowing officers to make more informed decisions in the field.
Community members, local businesses, and organizations can get involved by making tax-deductible donations to support ICGIC’s yearly law enforcement training conference. These contributions help fund critical elements such as:
● Bringing nationally recognized instructors to Imperial County
● Providing training materials, equipment, and resources
● Covering conference facility and operational costs
● Supporting attendance for officers from under-resourced agencies
● Sustaining year-round community outreach and youth programs
Every donation directly supports the professional development of law enforcement personnel and strengthens public safety efforts throughout the region. By investing in ICGIC, the community is investing in better-trained officers, stronger partnerships, and safer neighborhoods.
Imperial County, like many communities, experiences challenges related to gang activity and broader criminal networks. Due to its location along the U.S.–Mexico border, the region can also be impacted by transnational criminal organizations that operate across international boundaries. Most gang-related activity in Imperial County involves local street gangs. These groups may be involved in crimes such as drug sales, theft, and violence, often affecting neighborhoods directly. In some cases, larger criminal organizations operating across borders are involved in activities such as drug trafficking and human smuggling. These organizations may attempt to use border regions, including Imperial County, to move illegal goods or people. While not all residents encounter these issues directly, these activities can impact overall community safety, quality of life, and local resources.
Community members play an important role in keeping Imperial County safe. If you see something that doesn’t seem right, it’s important to report it.
